ok i got my bird saftied yesterday i took it out today, firts time i went for a long cruz (more that 2 minutes, went for bout 30 minutes) the whole time the the gen light is on in the car, then i pull in my buddies house. then i go to tart it up and go home, and it wont go, i got spark, i put gas down the carb, which means its not filter or fuel pump, now this is what im thinkin
when the car is running it keeps suckin the juice outta the battery and dosent charge it, which woudl be the reason why its dead after a long drive correct?, like i had it jumped and she went at my buddies house, it took alot of pumping of the gas pedal tho,
like at my buddies it seemed like it juts didnt have enough juice to get it going? but after we jumped it, and pumped the hell outta th gas pedal it went, then i drive it home park it in the driveway and try a turn to hope for good luck, and the thing is dead,
so im thinkin its not charging the batter while the car is running?
whats the fix for this? and or is their any other things that the problem could be?
You could be on the right track. Put a different battery in the car and start it. Then remove one of the cables from the battery and see if it still runs. If the car dies it is most likely an alternator problem (either the alternator is bad or not wired up properly). It could just have bad connections on the alternator or at the battery.
