I just got a new clutch return spring and extension rod from classic industries after realizing it was wrong(the rod they send is for a small chevy or 6cyl pontiac) spoke with classic about it and performance years and they both said to cut it to length being that a pontiac v8 rod is not available.my question is does anyone know the demensions for the factory clutch return spring rod or maybe even have one available for sale???thanks for any input.

I received the same one. My plan is to cut it so that there is perhaps 1/4" tension applied in the static position to hold it in. I just hope it isn't spring steel as sometimes that kind of steel just snaps when bent.

pretty crappy that they cant just make the correct spring and rod instead of giving us chevy crap.just my opinion if i'm buying parts for my pontiac firebird i want pontiac parts not chevy camaro parts that need to be modified to fit my pontiac.

Agreed. By the way, do you have a photo of where the bracket that the spring / rod hooks up to is installed on the frame. I can't find the hole and key slot. Looks tight wherever it goes.
