I recently had a 67 326 engine overhauled by a good reputable shop. Despite our best efforts however, the car still runs rough at times and has a distinct hesitation when the car initially accelerates. Timing, etc., seems to be right on. Any suggestions out there? Carb was rebuilt and appears good. One thought might be that the fuel tank/system needs to be replaced. Before I go to that expense would appreciate is anyone has had the same problem and solved it another way. Thanks.
I would agree with "bird67conv". Please say you have a Quadrajet on it, and accurately check the settings. Are you running "good fuel" in it ? Could be a simple as some "bad gas". Can you smell gasoline when you jump on it ? I would also check ALL fuel lines - blow em out with a compressor and replace them if you can, you may be getting some unwanted air or condensation from a microscopic crack in a line. Good Luck !!
