I'm ready to sell my 67 hardtop. It was originally a Sprint/automatic, now a pretty fresh 400 w/Muncie M-20. Upgrades on the engine, new lotsa things. It's had some body work and the red paint is sorta dull (Maaco quotes me $450 to make it pretty again).

I tell people I'd like to get close to ten grand for it, and they don't call back.

What's a reasonable price here in Houston? (btw, it's a no A/C car.)

Schwee, my idea on that cars value, for a non matching numbers car, not original, and a coupe would be about $6-8000...hopefully I`m wrong and value is higher....just trying to be 'realistic'..

It'd be worth close to that with the original Sprint motor in it.

10K isnt out of line for a non-numbers matching FGF coupe. However, given the fact that the paint is dull and from what you say has had "some" body work (thus implying it needs more) would lead me to agree with Bjorn.
If the car was free of rust, mechanical issues, electrical issues, looked good (ie paint, rims, engine detail, undercarriage, etc...) and was peppy,,, then I would say 10K is a deal.
Get it painted and see if people leave smile
If they do then you have other issues

Not everyone is out for a #'s matching FGF. Done right, the car can bring more than a #'s matching car.

Considering the 400 and the 4 speed the best way to realize the most out of the car would be to do a cosmetic clone i.e. primarily the hood, hockey sticks, and badging.

400/4 speeds fetch the most money. The only person that needs to know it's a clone is the guy who buys it from you.

If the car could be driven 1000 miles immediately after purchase, it's worth a 10K+.

Please post pictures, who knows, maybe I'm interested?

What rear end gears does it have?

Joe sez: "Not everyone is out for a #'s matching FGF. Done right, the car can bring more than a #'s matching car." Watch Barrett-Jackson and see that he's right! Cars with character and the right color/options are selling for more money regardless of #s. Needless to say the cars the bring the most are #s matching AND have character/provenance.

Im starting to get the 4spd itch too. I have a TH400 that I was going to put in my car, but I am thinking about the 4spd lately.
