I'm building a 68 350 HO clone to orgiginal configuration but I can't decide what color to paint it. Keep in mind I'll be putting on the side body stripe too.. It must be a color that was available for 68 Firebirds. The original color is Red/black interior. I want to keep the interior color to either black or red..I don't want any blues or turquoise, or yellow or white..so I'm basically down to this..Keep orig. Red? Maroon, black or green (no verdoro. Too many of those) Plese let me know what y'all think. Thanks!
Black with red is a serious thought for sure. If I go red, I'd have to put on a black stripe to match the interior and i dont want a white interior. THANKS
Hey Cavemate, been a while, glad to see your still busy with the cars!
How about something really different? (Autumn Bronze was in 68 too) Or here is the Red on White:
Most of the colors will work with Black interior... I like the colors you don't see very much like the Bronze, Plum, Spring Mist etc... or the Maroon is fifferent...
WOW! Great pics! The Black/red is VERY tempting. I was thinking about Bronze, but I think it looks better on Camaros than on Firebirds. The Green is a nice color. I already restored one with that exact combo. Plum for sure! But it wasn't available in 68. . I'm not really into white. The burgundy is great...with white stripe and interior, but not so great with a black stipe I'd think. I'm down to 2 choices....Black/red..Or orig. Red/black, but if I did red/black, I think I'm go with a shade darker of a red. Solor red is great with white, but being it has a lot of orange tint to it, I don't think It's all that hot with black. Everyone, thanks for the responses and great pics!
