It should probably only take a few seconds and you will be through it.
Actually, I can't say what the length is but vendors like PY have a clip like the factory used which secures the heater hose to the inner fender. My AC equipped '68 didn't have one but here's one of a non-AC '68 that I took at a show:

Here's how I lay my hose, in a head mounted bracket. I believe it is also a "correct" method, but if not, let me know....I purchad the bracket off Ebay and it was noted as for a 68 bird...
Now Johnny, finish that roast beast and get down to busines....
I am still trying to determine which bracket is correct for the 68 birds. I have seen many with the type that Dave shows, but I thought the one on the fender well was the correct way.
68' Firebird 400 convertible, numbers matching, solar red w/ deluxe parchment interior. 66' Pontiac Ventura Hardtop 66' Pontiac Catalina Convertible
My AC car did not use one. It does not fit under the compressor. Dave brings up a good question. I have also seen both. I checked pictures of a 400 point POCI car and the clip is on the fenderwell. Ames sells both with no furhter explanation.
My two '67 non-AC cars came with the fender well clip (made for two hoses but holding just one). The Camaro uses the same clip which holds two hoses in that case.
I changed over to the head mounted bracket which I had chromed because I liked the appearance:
OMG, I completly spaced this thread... the wife and I have been getting freaky listening to Burt Bacharach and stopped working on the car all together..
so lemme start over... first, do we agree this is good quality hoses? trying to gauge PMI's heater hose comments and also not wanting to disappoint Nash either... so the rest of the hoses are suppose to arrive this week, I have conceeded defeat on driving this year... sniff sniff
now back to the "Raindrops Keep falling on my head".. speaking of which, it was more like "whipped cream keeps falling on my seats" while taking this pic.. it was a tough shot.. but anything for my buds here!
