called about a fb convertible tonight. stated it had 400 heads and intake?, but the car had a 350 block. excuss my igorance of pontiacs, but i was wondering how this should perform and just what the difference were between the 400 and 350 blocks??? ps i know it's at least 50 cu. in.

The blocks for the Pontiacs were the same dimensionally from the 326 to the 455... so you could use the same heads on all... But for obvious reasons you wouldn't want to put the high compression heads from a 400/455 on a 326.... But depending on the heads (valve size and CC's) the 400 heads on a 350 should perform quite well. Help it breath better.
If it were the other way, 350 heads on a 400 then you would need to be more concerned.
But you should be in good shape with this set up. See if the owner knows the Compression ratio and the valve sizes?
