Vikki sent me an email with another site which is another Firebird site. Looks like a lot of good content will be there and couple knowledgeable people running it. I don't have anything to do with it but thought it should be shared:
Vikki and Banshee are very knowledgeable so it should be good. Gives the addicted another place to visit. If you are like me, one is just not enough to fill your time.

"So what are they going to do when people visit that are unwanted ,if its unmoderated as its stated? guess time will tell..."
I'm not absolutely positive about this, but it seams that membership is not automatic. You can look anonymously, but to post there is some accountability. I think the anonymity, with some people, loosens their lips a little too much. A true virtual garage would have a more "face to face" feeling. I know that a lot of the comments made on this site would never fly in a real garage. (something would fly though! maybe fur) It's all in what you are looking for and what you like. Some people that thrive on anonymity would hate the site. To each his own. Myself, I believe that another First Gen site is an awesome thing and hats off to the creater/s.
I can't get in to post yet.Still waiting for confirmation email to do so.

I think we should all try and enjoy both sites. Give that new site a chance, folks. Vikki and Tom have a great deal of knowledge and are probably having fun with the new site. Just make sure you all are checking here to comment on all my constant woes and projects!! It just never ends, does it?

I hope the authors of the firstgensite are looking to add first generation firebird resources to the internet and not just compete with this site. Sorry to be blunt here but it looks like some sort of civil war. I'd like to see these two sites compliment each other and not compete with each other. Spinning the site off with forums only looks like competition to me. I hope I'm wrong. Dave
If anything it will get me off my duff and finally finish several updates I have been working on for several years:
Extensive Parts Database John's Registry "Finished" with document analysis. Return of the eStore on steroids FAQs on steroids
And who else knows once these are completed as the above are in progress one form or another. The Registry and eStore are close and lay the ground work for Parts Database and FAQs update.
Family and work has taken priorities last couple years and I do want to get my Firebird on the road this fall so I don't work at it as much as I once did. Do need to wrap a couple of them up so you all can use them.
And I was hoping all the time that if we got Geoff some 'help' moderating he could finish his bird! LOL I/we want to see it on the road! Afterall, thats the car (I assume) that got this whole site started!
I agree, the more sources we have to find information on our cars the better! And I'm sure it will be a wealth of knowledge and great reference just as this site is and always has been! Never hurts to have more information to share! Nice job!
I for one will be watching your progress Nash! Lol..
Yes Geoff, we'd all like to see you out driving your bird now and then... or at least hear that you are! After all this time! And some of the planned additions to the site sound exciting! How is John doing by the way? Does he check in here at all?
Just a big thanks to everyone for sharing the information with us all!
I agree with Bob S., if its just FGF people visiting Vikki and Tom at their site instead of this one , no difference ,just more time spent on two sites...but maybe new people will find it...?....
I'm not sure I have time to be a regular in both "garages", but I'll try to support both.
I've said before (and I'll say again) that I'd be lost without this online resource, so maybe some redundancy in websites is a good thing, just in case.
It certainly would be good if each site was able to carve out its own niche... although I guess a little competition can be healthy too...
Posting a "tech help" question at each site seems a little too redundant though, especially if all the faces are the same...
Yeah, I can't seem to get anyone from either site to take a picture of their radiator for me. You'd think Banshee would have one car with stock radiator mounting he'd photograph for me.
Bob, I went out to take a picture of mine and realize I'm missing one bolt too. I assume that there should have been two? There is always something more to be done. You want a picture of it, I can send/post one.
Bob: I'm not ignoring your request for a picture. I have the front clip off, and it would be a "snap" to take a picture, but it isn't correctly mounted. Someone stole the clip off of my other car, including the raidator, hacking off the hoses and tranny lines. This car came in a box, without raidator, so I put together as best I could without resources and money.
