I would like to add air to my non-air 67 Firebird. I would like to buy a complete system. The only system I can find is from Vintage Air that sells for about $1150 locally. I would like to know are there any others? Even an underdash unit would work for me as long as it looked nice and would fit without any modifications that could not be easily fixed if removed. If there are no others can a vintage unit be bought for less?
The Vintage air unit is a good one , had one on my Sebring ( Austin Healey replica) w/ a 302. On my Studebaker I had an under dash unit bought and installed by local 'antique car a/c installer' , it ran me $1600 installed , I think the unit itself was about 900 , but has only an under dash unit w/ a/c only . The Vintage unit has air and heat , nice looking installation , I`m sure you`ll be a lot happier w/ it than an under dash unit even if you`d save a few $$. Go for it! Bjorn
Also When I e-mailed "Vintage Air " direct after finding them online , they quoted me right at $1000, I feel sure you should be able to get it under 1150.Maybe get their listings of retailers and call on those directly!>?
