My 68 firbird started life as an automatic, but was converted to a manual transmission somwhere along the way. right now, it has manual drums brakes. I want to buy a brake booster to put on it, but im not sure if the booster will fit with the cluitch. The rod that pushes out the clutch lever, is right below where the bosster would go, and i dont think thear is enough clearance. Was this a problem on all manual transmission firebirds that had boosters? wut should i do?
You arte ok in putting one on, I have an origional 3-speed car (now a 4) with disc brakes, did not have a power booster until I added one, the clutch rod clears it by an easy inch, never was a probalem during installation-BUT make sure that you have the correct length rod that goes from the pedal to the booster as I recall them being a different length or something, I just rember there buing a bummer somewhere along the line and I needed to use the rod from the car that I got the booster from, none the less it was an easr install
