I'm planning to swap a 4-speed transmission in place of TH400 on 68 convertible. I have some questions concerning this swap:
Are all 68 350 crankshafts drilled for pilot bushing. Engine came originally with automatic. I have auto trans there now, so I can't see it until trans is out.
Do all Pontiac bellhousings and flywheels interchange between Pontiac 350 and Muncie/T10. How about other BOP bellhousings.
Are there differences in clutch fork hole locations. Which ones position clutch fork correctly for Firebird.
Everthing should work with no problems, all Pontiac engines share the same bellhousing pattern, piolot bushing, and flywheel. There are some differences in some of the late '70's stuff, but I doubt you have any trouble with anything. T-10 or Muncie will work with the bellhousing and flywheel. BOP bellhousings are the same. Good luck!
