i have a yd style engine is it a 400 or 455 since in the codes there is 69 yd 400,70 yd 400,72 yd 455,73 yd 455 can somone help me out? also l have a px turbo 400 how do you figure out what year it's from? thanks

Hey BMXer, typically if it's new enough to be a 455, on the side of the block between the oil pan and the heads, it's usually marked on the block in raised numbers "455" or "400".

But if it is perhaps a 69 block... you'll have to go by the YD code and then look at the numbers right by the Dist. Hole... there will be a set of numbers there... this will give you enough to ID the year etc...

IF PX is trans code, YD is engine code, year of block helpful. What heads? Sounds like a big car motor..GP,Cat, Bonnie. Likely blew engine, replaced motor..I am crossing my fingers your trans is right.

There is a 2/3 digit on center ehh port on head. If you have problems locating, Na hell....I'll send you what I need...
