Hi, I've been pricing suspension parts and was wondering wether 4 leafs were more correct or 5 leaf springs? They are both rated the same but the 4 leaf are $30 more. My car was originally a 350/4 speed car. Thanks.
I believe that 4 leaf springs are correct. 5 leaf are something that became available aftermarket for those wanting to race their cars. 5 leaf will be a stiffer spring.
Okay, knowing both were available. Which one would would you order for a daily driver? I'm installing a 455 with T-56 Six speed transmission. Let's hear your views!!! I checked my car and I think it has five leafs. The bottom one is only about 12" long.
Go with the 5 leaf, with a 455 you will need the stronger springs to hook up on the pavement! Wouldn't hurt to put in a set of bolt-in subframe connectors to help things out more. with a set of traction bars it should launch pretty straight. Just my opinion. Have fun!
