I'm looking to restore a set of RallyeII rims. Does anybody Know the paint codes used for the Charcoal and silver. Maybe Dupli-Color or something. Thanks in Advance
I have read on this site how some of you guys have restored the Rally II wheels. Well, I got to the point of painting the wheels silver and let them sit for about 24 hours. I started to mask off the spokes so I can apply the charcoal grey. As I was pulling the excess tape off the silver paint came with it. I used primer and rough sanded it prior to applying the silver paint. Am I just a doofus or what? Any suggestions?
I ran into the same problem when I did mine. I found that if you use transfer tape that is used for transfering vinyl decals to vehicles. If you use ordinary masking tape, apply the charcoal and remove the tape immediatley. When you do a second coat apply new tape. P.I.T.A but it works.
Eastwood makes a stencil kit for the rally II wheel for $8.99. They worked pretty good for me, I let the paint dry for a couple days before doing the silver and i didn't have any paint peel.
part #10191 for the 14" wheel mask part #10192 for the 15" wheel mask part #10001z for the silver paint $8.99 part #10003z for the charcoal
Not sure if the paint is an exact match but it looks pretty good to me.

I used Krylon grey primer, wet sanded after the second coat, followed by 2 coats of Krylon metal flake silver..let the wheels dry for 3 days, masked off the wheels with tape and a razor blade..used Dupli-color 318 for the centers, 15 minutes between coats, when 2nd coat was barely tacky, peeled tape off back over itself and had no probs with lifting, only had to touch up a couple spots of the silver, just sprayed a model brush with the silver to do it, followed with 3 coats of Dupli-color clear coat..they look great I think...the guy at the tire shop told me he thought they were fctory when I had the tires mounted. BTW, car looks a million times better already, it had original PMD wheelcovers on it that were pretty rough and dented..
