Hi I just bought a 68 firebird with a Pontaic 350 wide block in it. I am doing a complete rebiuld on the engine. My problem is that it came with a 3 speed automatic transmission and I want to put a manual tranny in. I was wondering what manual transmission would fit onto that motor. Thanks

Your best bet is a Muncie M-20 or 21..You will need crossmember and driveshaft mods. Borg Warner will fit, but again, with mods.

Your current crossmember should work, unless you have a turbo 400 in the car. T-400 cars had a special crossmember because the T-400 is longer. A M20 would be best with a gear ratio of 3:55 and higher, a M21 with steeper gears. M22 not worth the extra expense. Good luck!

No Th 350's came in First Gen birds.. Th400 crossmember will not work. I should say a handful of 69 6cyl and 350 2 bbl. apps. came with 350's
