If I was at the dealership in 1969 I would have not checked off the box for the trunk release but I would definetly have kept my disc brakes and deluxe interior. If I could have added an option I would ditch the AM radio and add an 8-track player to rock to my Credence tape. Remember think likes it's the sixties.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
options mine came with that I`d have picked differently: not so good: 350 2 bbl (been changed to 400 4 bbl) good: console (still there) good: custom trim (still there) good: de luxe seat belts (gone) good: pwr steering (still there) bad : std spare (replaced w space saver) bad: Midnight Green w Dark Green int. ( former owner painted 're sale' red with blk int.) would have been nice with a hood tach!
so "ditto" to Scotts :"I still have the nice stuff and improved on the not-so-nice stuff."
I've always wondered if my options were picked by the factory, the dealer, or the buyer- they are a strange mix: -why spend the money on a power top and not power windows? -why spend the money on a 400HO, but not upgrade the 3 sp to a 4 sp? -why get the 8-track and 4 speakers (very pricey), but not FM radio?
I'd say my best option is either the deluxe interior or the HO, the worst option is the standard spare. The worst feature is definitely the drum brakes. If it were 1968, and I were a 5 yr old with $5,000; for safety I'd definitely want the disc brakes, headrests, and shoulder belts. For comfort, I'd want power windows and FM. For performance I'd stay with the HO (smooth, 068 idle) and get a 4 speed.
I love the 400 option on my car. If I had to drop an option, it might be the electric seat, but it is a very rare option. I believe 209 cars had it in 68.
Power Disc 400/4spd Power Top Power Windows Tilt Column Sport Wheel Remote Mirror Fold Down Seat Deluxe Interior w/Custom Option Hood Tach Mirror Package (two visor mirrors) AM/FM
Notably Absent: Posi Traction Ralley Guages
What I've added: Factory Style Tinted Windows Ralley Gauges ('68 but would trade for '67) Orig. Style Power Trunk (got a good deal) Trunk Light Posi-Traction Ram Air (original hood pan) Head rest seats ('69) Courtesy Lights (including ashtray light)
I have a clock but am debating on using it.
A power seat would cool but I'm happy with what I've got. I will likely get seat extenders.
The only option I would not want is the Speed Minder. That would be annoying, plus I've got my wife for that anyway.
Best option that came on mine? I don't think I could pick just one.... I love the: Power Top Custom Trim Rally Gauge & Hood Tach
Sadly, the hood tach is gone.
Worst "option": 2bbl carb. I put a 4bbl and QJet on over the winter tho
Original owner should have opted for the Rally II's as well. It has Rally II's now though, and I have what I believe are the original hub caps in a box. Hey - does anyone know if they're worth much?
Perhaps because my car was destined for sale in Canada, it came with option 752 MAX ANTI-FREEZE. I wonder if all Canuck FB's came with that...
I wish mine had Rally gauges and hood tach. It has a lot of factory options including convertible, 400, power top, PW, PS, PDB, air, tilt, tinted glass, custom trim, console, Rally IIs, headrests, shoulder harnesses, AM/FM stereo, Safe-T-Track, power antenna, and a relatively rare color. It's hard to improve upon a well equipped car.
Vikki 1969 Goldenrod Yellow / black 400 convertible numbers matching
My 67 Convertible: Good options: Sprint 6, 4spd, 3:55 Safe-t-track, Ralley gauges w/hood tach, Rally IIs, Clock, Ride and Handling Package,(springs/shocks)Champagne Paint, manual steering, power top. Bad options: Black top and interior.(looks good, but no a/c!)Manual disc brakes.(why not power?) Door edge guards.(why?) I added two items that I would have ordered. Black rally stripes and power assist to my brakes. I also dropped the door edge guards...
When i bought mine it was optioned with the highly desirable paper and undercoated floor and trunk pans and swiss cheese frame rails.I was told it was for go fast weight savings purposes! Alas, i have long since swapped it out for proper guage metal pans and custom built frame rails tied to the subframe.

Mine was a convertible, 4-speed, safe-T-trac rear, custom interior/trim package, console, hood tach, with a 326 2bbl??? I'd have checked the block for 400 or at least 326 HO for sure.
AM/FM with 8 track. Originally an AM but I put a Am/FM in so I can use my MP3 with an Transmitter. And AC. If your not checking the high performance box why not have the creature comforts. Power windows, With the convertible this should have been a mandatory option. 400 would have been nice just to get the hood but the 350 is fine for everyday. But as a hole wouldn't change a thing. I built it. Its mine and I have not pulled up next to another one yet.
I have the 400 ho option with the 4 speed but no tac. I wish for the tac but I have to keep it original. everything else is fine. I can live with the green and ivy gold int but black on black would be great.
I also think my options were dealer choiced. i don't know what the radio was, but it had an antenna, so it must have come with one. I remember hearing about my dad cursing while drilling the antenna hole on his '71 swinger.
So... base 1bbl some kinda radio 2 spd Auto deluxe hub caps
As far as I know, those are the only options. I dont think anyone would choose deluxe caps over sprint option for just a few dollars, but i wasn't there, so who knows? I actually prefer the dogdish caps or none to those ugly "deluxe" things, but that might be a fad
