Just wandering who drives what on here. I seem to see alot of conv. sigs. on here, and even on E-bay, the number of convertables to hardtops for sale is more than I would have thought. So what ya drive' n? Convertable here.
My convertible maximizes the fun of driving in my old age. Come to think of it, it maximized the fun of driving in my youth. Even red lights are not as annoying when sitting in a rumbling '68 convert.
Convertible. I wonder if the survival rate of convertibles is higher than coupes. You are right; convertibles do seem to be very well represented on this board.
JIMBOS QUOTE: "Vert for me. But I do agree a hard top is more of a pure muscle car. Except for maybe a Hemi Cuda rag. Jimbo " WTF Jimbo??? You have a 1st gen vert and you have Mopar envy?
Pure muscle=A first gen vert that lights the tires in all three gears with an automatic!!!
One of each would be idea. BUT, if I had to pick just one, which I did, I choose the ragtop. ...and I agree, the convertibles seem more like cruisers, and the coupes are perhaps more muscular.
well, I kinda agree w Jim ,but I like only convertibles for 'classics' ( I drive coupe as daily drive), one vert. is automatic ,one is stick shift ... but one is US car ,one is Brit. that`s so I can tackle different problems! lol
Mine is a coupe. The wife wants a convert to go with it. All I got to do is sell the '66 Grand Prix for an extreme $ and find the convert I can afford. The way prices are going, I better get with it too.
In the early 80's I helpt a frind with a red 70 GTO conv. and borrowed his car several times, after that time, I promised my self that one time, before my last wheel's stops turning. I'l have a car for driving in the country side, smell the flower's, listen to the birds, feel the sun in my face and the wind in the rest of my hair. Bjørn K

Ah. Never mind. Just saw the Triumph in your sig. I had a MGB. Neat car. When something stopped working on it, I just jiggled some wires and off I went.
I have a coupe because that's what I wound up with. I didn't shop for one or the other, just a Firebird. I had a Camaro convertible in the early '80's. There's no question they have their days (and nights!).
Ron 67, great experience British cars ,eh? I had a 63 Mini Cooper in 63-65, a 58 Morris Minor in 69, an Austin A30 in 69, and a Replica austin Healey 3000 (Sebring MX w a Ford 302, at 1900 lbs it was ablast)6,7 yrs ago...now just got the GT6, we`ll see how soon it`ll run and how long I`ll keep her....
Someone brought up a good point...Convertibles are very well represented. One thing i have noticed over the past few years.. You see WAY more convertilbe first gen firebirds than you do first gen Camaros. I dont know the numbers but it seems they must have made more firebird verts than they did Camaros.

Yeah thats a sore subject. Especially when you watch completely totalled/unrestorable 69 Camaros go for $1000 on ebay just because someone wants the VIN and Cowl tag for their Dynacorn body!! Sorry, enough about Camaros...didnt mean to hijack the thread.
