The dealer might not be too helpful though unless you can give them application specific needs, rather than tooth count/gear color. The ones i got were for an 84 C10 700r4 i was working on. The rebuilders in this area don't seem very helpful unless you have them do the work.
I'll probably get my 200-4r gears from transmissioncenter.
This brings up a good question for me...I switched from a 2.78 open to a 3.42 posi, and now my speedo's off (but I don't regret it for a minute ) I have a 4 speed M22, but originally had an automatic years before I bought the car.
What needs to change? The trans gear? Sorry for my ignorance here, but I would like to know how fast I am going, so I can abide by the law of course.
Go to a Chevy/Pontiac parts desk- order (gear 003860346) about $8. Follow the speedo cable to the trans ,the gear is held in by a 3/8 bolt. and their ya go! MIK
Cant count teeth, its installed.I went from a 3sp auto to a m-22 Ive got the same rear/trans combo as you. If you can find a good man at the parts counter he can translate rear ratio/ tire dia = part # for you,it wont be on the computer its in the old parts book most parts guys dont want to bother! Good Luck-MIK
