I have a 68 Firbird that I am doing a complete engine rebuild on. I was wondering what color I should paint the block. I heard that it will decrease the value of the car if I paint it anything other than chevy red/orange. But the car is blue so I thought it wouldn't look good with the engine being red. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. Does it really matter??
Deputy, Am I correct that your bird is factory Chevy powered as other Pontiacs, that were exported to Canada? It would probably devalue it some what. You may want to consider the Pontiac Blue Metallic that was used on the same vintage Birds, here in the states! That would get a second look from some people. Build it the way you want and enjoy it. You (or the next owner)could always change the color back in the future. Good luck with your project.
