The first annual MOFO BBQ/Cruise was held on July 8th. Click above for some of the pics.
Smitty took a bunch more - so I can't wait to see the shots he got.
All in all, we had 6 birds together for the BBQ - 2 of each year! Even had a cherry '67 GTO show up. Very nice.
After much car inspecting, we had a quick bite, then off for a photoshoot, before ending up at the local cruise-in night. The comments we got as we paraded through the middle of the show were very uplifting. And to top it all off, there were another 4 (!!!) FGF's there! So 10 FGF's at one local show - we certainly took over. Way to go MOFO's!
More details to come... enjoy the pics! Virtual awards to be presented in this thread later this evening.

With the price of oats going through the roof, I thought some other food source might work. After all, you know how those goats are; they'll eat anything.

Bjorn, did you notice the Firebird photos, or did you start day dreaming after seeing the brews?
We kicked butt at the car show too. We rode there part way with a State Police escort. Scott, where is that photo? First-gen Camaro's were outnumbered by powerful birds at the show. Everywhere folks gave us the thumbs up as our caravan of birds drove through.
Merv tried to coax the old goat with oats, but this goat prefers to eat high test gas or Chevys.
68Bigbird, of course we would notice LOL... and No, I noticed the cars too....not that many Girls in the pics , but if there had been , I might not have seen the cars! lol
great meet...looks like you guys had fun...I recognize the 'set up', its like I was there ,very similar to our meets...now you guys know how it is...this was only your first! it gets better...
At one of our meets , last year , in Corpus Christi,Kelly had us go to a local show , "Snapkas", and we pulled in with 6 or 7 birds...parked along one back side of a building , across from most other cars...then here comes a guy in a Firebird "knowing he had the only bird in town"! and goes around the corner ,sees our 6 birds and his eyes almost fell out! LOL what a sight...
if I remember right our first meet had 2 cars, then 5, then 6 then 8 eventually up to 14....lately not quite as many as several have "work" done , but soon we hope to break our record again... records are there to be broken!
Wow Bjorn, 14 birds? We have some catching up to do then. The're a bit harder to find in Maryland because of rust, but we have accepted the challenge. We have three or four that are undergoing repairs, so we have hopes of catching up. That's if we don't sit around drinking Shiner's instead of getting it done.
It would have been great to have a photo of that Firebird owner as he spotted your gang. Were you able to recruit him?
I just met the elusive owner of my car's near twin...1969 convertible, Goldenrod Yellow, black interior, one owner since new (female) and she's restoring it to give to her son. I volunteered to take his place if he's not enthusiastic about it. Restoration is nearing completion; she came to me because she spotted my car and wanted to confirm a few details.
Last week I finally caught up with the owner of a Carousel Red '69 400 convertible with parchment interior that I've seen pass by my house (on a main road) several times but never got to talk to...woman with two young kids. It also has a twin
Between the two of them that makes, let's see...
9 1969 Firebird convertibles and 2 1968 Firebird convertibles, 2 1968 Firebird coupes, 2 1967 convertibles...all within a 10 mile circle.
Oh yeah, add another '68 coupe. White. Very nice.
There is still another triple black '69 Firebird convertible in the area that I have not stopped yet. There used to be a Cameo White '69 vert around here but I haven't seen it lately.
We need to have a meet!
