Look carefully there's 13, count 'em, 13 FGFs lined up for your droolage. NINE of them were already MOFOs, and then we did our best to recruit the 4 Noobs. (The white 'vert guy was impossible to track down.)
Look out HALF, the MOFOs are coming!
(I'll be posting some of my own pics in a day or two. PC issues...)
Brett - I have yet to distribute your donated grapical materials to the other MOFOs. (I keep forgetting.)
But - I did notify them that I have them and now you know that they'll HOUND me until I distribute them!
Brett please get with me concerning how much you would charge for some sort of MOFO related vinyl banner around 6' long. It'd be great to display it at our major events.
Sounds good... I wasn't going to mention anything just in case... didn't want to get you in trouble again!
What I can do is set something up for you, and you should be able to take the file and have it produced some place locally... that should save some coin in the long run! We'll talk...
Brett: Thanks. Naturally we want an FGF theme, including MOFO prominently with maybe an explanation of the acronym underneath it. (We're never quite sure what the acronym means, afterall, we're MOFOs!)
MOFO might be: Maryland Original Firebird Owners
I suppose we should keep the color count low too. Right?
Slogans: " '7s, '8s, or '9s... MOFOs Rule!"
"Who needs a big block?" :-)
"We got your Big Block... Right here!"
Graphic ideas: We could stack three front bumbers, two 7/8s on top, one 69 on the bottom.
Pontiac arrowheads on either side would be nice. Or maybe an arrrowhead on one side and an FGF bird on the other. Or two Birds on either side, duh.
Scott, yeah I was contacted a few years back and asked if I would like to submit some images that would be published in a Firebird book.
So I sent some in, but that was a few years ago, so the car looks much better now... http://tinyurl.com/pyey4 but it was kool just the same to have it published!
I'll have to get out and take some new pix soon!
Sounds good... I'll try to get something worked up for your banner soon (unless the baby shows up early?) and we'll go from there!
I'll try to get a better shot. It's super hot, and I don't know whether or not I'll drag the car out of the garage. (I'v tried to get shots in the garage--it ain't going to happen because the metallics explode into a blob.) Let's see how it goes tonight.
As for what's up for comparison, I'm the first in line in the 3 different sets, with the right fender in view. But it doesn't provide a good shot. Oh, the similar looking bird that Scott shot in flight isn't mine. It's a clone, and I call it a clone because mine has been wearing that color dress exaclty 19 years this month.
Ok, here's the best of the handfull of shots I just took. Anything other than shiny or metallic, my camera does pretty well.
I had problems with pictures while doing the repair. The inner support on the inside front had not only snapped, but it had also detached from the fender. I fabricated the support/ stringer/rib--whatever vernacular fits the bill--by chucking up the flat stock in a vice, acting as a metal brake, and hammered the correct angles. Then I cleaned up the inside of the fender and tacked it. Next, I took a cut-to-size 2x4 scrap, and wedged it in to acheice correct fender contour with the gasket and headlight. Then I welded the support to the fender.
I took quite a few pictures during the process, and they looked fine on the viewfinder. When I plugged it into the computer, the computer clunked, clattered, and said the disk wasn't formatted and did I wish to fromatt the disc in drive A? That meant that the whole disc went south. It's obvious that there is some kind of kootie in my computer. Either that, or it's typical xp because I have found xp to be the biggest pos operating system in the ms operating systems.
Anway, this will have to do for now. That is if the disc doesn't go south.
