Hi guys,
I am restoring a set of rally gauges for my 69 firebird and just finished sandblasting the casing, is there a specific coating that should go over the metal or just paint? and is there any areas that need to stay bare for the printed circuit to ground to?

I find it hard to believe noone has any insight on this... I didnt think i was doing a groudbreaking procedure. any help out there??

I think it origanally was just left bare. I painted mine (silver outside and a light blue inside.) The printed circuit has its own ground (at least on my idiot light cluster.) You may need to ground the mounting with the rest of the dash, but not sure on that as I haven't gotten to reinstall any interior parts yet. Don't know if this helps you or not, but that's what I did.
