Anyone here have a trans. (manual) with a pass. side connection for the speedometer cable? The cable I have came off a drivers side trans., and is about 64" long. I' ll find out if it' s long enough when I climb underneath it, but was wandering how and where it was run to the other side for now. Thanks.
Nevermind. I was only one beer from solving this mystery. Cable was long enough, and the cable could only go pretty much where it wanted to. Problem solved.... Where the h@ll are the smilies? Oh well, thanks anyways...
I've got a passenger side speedo connection on my M-20. The tranny is painted orange which lets me think it was attached to a Chevy at one point. Did original firebird trannies have it on the driver's side? Is it a BOP vs Chevy thing?
lol...Thanks for the smilies Bob. My original trans. had the connection on the drivers side. I' m guessing that it was one of them BOP Chevy things. Still can' t find my smilies...
Ron, see, now you know... if you run into a perplexing problem... step back, have a beer, and try it again!
(If you hit the reply button at the bottom of the previous post, you'll get the full reply box, with your chioce of smiles) Or you can type the basics : + ) = etc
Ron, lost control of my smilies too when Geoff upgraded the board last month! Oh well.
I guess you figured the cable routing out: True, it goes where it wants and fits, I have two clips guiding it on the PAX side. Had to reroute just a tad last year when installing the headers.
