Wasn't able to log in to the "new" forum for some reason, but I'm in now!
Anyways, this past weekend was a success in "project: more fuel"! We (Mike V and Merv and I) were able to swap out my old stock 2bbl setup for a 4bbl quad, with a stock Pontiac 4bbl intake. Result? No more bogging issues, better fuel economy (as long as I stay out of the secondaries! hahaha), and a much better throttle response. A very happy camper.
Hit some minor roadblocks along the way, but we worked everything out, and the final result is a very clean looking install.
Oh, and as a side benefit, now my heater is working - so I can drive the car without freezing this winter! Woohoo!
We replaced the master cyl a little while back, so now I have brakes again, and heat, and more fuel going in to the engine on demand - the car is coming along. Slowly. Of course, 2 steps forward, 1 step back with this car - but that's still progress in my book. :P
Pics? Left the camera at home - and got my hands WAY to greasy to be operating a camera anyways.
A HUGE thanks to Mike and Merv!

I'm glad you're progressing with your car. And with gas prices dropping a bit, you can go tear up some highway now. What's next on your list? You're way ahead of me.
Dis'be what you knead! Sea'dee difference? Of course, exhaust, other than the 2 speed slush box, and a loose screw in back are mandatory; even so, a set of these will really wake the sleepy quad up.
I don't know where the heck you can pick up a set of these, and I don't know if they come any more agressive than these. (They are the most agressive rods that I have seen, but that doesn't mean anything.)
For s&giggles, sometime, I'll yank them out, bring them over, chunk'em in, and see what happens. And no, you cannot have them. The're MINE MINE MINE!
Could put a meaner cam on the xmas shopping list too. Just tell your wife the old one is worn. And some long branch manifolds with duals. Ashtray, hows that limit on the VISA doing? Mine is limit locked and car still not done.
Steve! That's great news dood. I'm really glad you have an awesome pit crew to help you out. :-)
So, ya wanna 2-car cruise in the near future? You me and the wifey can go get ice cream. Naturally other MOFOs are welcome but no need to make a big ol' production out of it.
Visa actually just sent me a notice saying they're increasing my credit line! Geesh - is it that obvious to them?!
Next on the list? Well... dual exhaust for sure - after that *something* with the transmission and rear axle ratio. Would like a 4spd auto, though if I can get a hold of a TH350 for cheap, then that might be an option too. Anything to get me some more gearing.
As it stands though, money's tight for this project, so I might be done until next spring. On the other hand, it's possible I will let Merv have a go at the body work this winter on my car, so that will rack up a bill. Possibly remove the vinyl top, take care of the bondo-bubbling issues in the body as well.
You know, it's never going to be "done" - but as long as I can drive it and have some fun, then I'm happy.

Steve, interesting note: Even though I have long branch mainfolds, I noticed on HPP that they add around 2 HP and 3 ft/lbs. Considering they weigh a ton and are $$$, you may be better off keeping your "logs" for now.
Hey Tray, if anyone is heading down to MD from the Chicago area you can buy my TH350 for very cheap,,,, I will give you the MOFO discount. Its in good shape as it is currently under my car
Thanks - your Photoshopping helped me make the decision. I hope to get the car out of the upohlstery shop/jail on Monday and will take better pictures.
If yawl go to an ice cream store that brings you near by, look me up. Im the first house on the right where you see a firebird disassembled through the garage window. Give me a call and we'll keep the lights on.
