Just tuned up my 68 Ram Air firebird and had to replace the entire braking system to make it road worthy. I just got home from the first real test drive to see how it would perform and all I can say is WOW! Some of you may know that I also collect Mopars well I will say this RA bird is quicker then any of the Hemi cars or 6 pack cars I own....I am amazed with this car.... I feel like 19 again

I thought the '68 RA Firebird was in the top 5 of the list of fastest musclecars based on magazine tests?

# 30 is a 400-HO. There is no '68 Firebird RA II on the list. #42 is a GTO RA.

Never mind. A quick Internet search has revealed a bunch of different lists including both an old (1984) and new list (above) from Muscle Car Review. I even came across another list similar to above with the Viper GTS on top.

Maybe the Ram Air cars were rare enough that they were not available for road tests. No doubt they were/are much quicker than the HO's.

You probably should sell the car, you know it being so fast and all.

I'm sure whoever you talk to or whatever mag. you read just about all of them will have a diff. opinion on what the fastest cars were.
