First post on this forum. My 428ho name was taken so I went with another form of it so you might recognize me.
My 68 is now a floor shift but was 3 on the tree, then the floor, but the hole is butchered and way to big, and the car is currently undergoing restoration. When I put the Muncie in awhile back 1st gear hits the tunnel so it needs cut out some more, never worried about it back when with a huge Hurst boot but now that it's in the body shop we're trying to decide whether to weld it up solid and start over or just fill in the edges. Can anyone provide some dimensions of hole size and location? I'd like to run the factory bezel and boot. Non console. Thanks

I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
Just went out to get you measurements, only to find out my flashlight's dead. I'll get them for you tomorrow when I get home from work if noone else has the info posted for you.
If the hole hasn' t swallowed them up, the factory had dimples in the floor to drill for the boot screws. That would give you a general location for the hole to go. Can' t help you on the exact size as mine was alittle modified also.
First of all, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday like I said I would. The computer I was using was borrowed & they needed it back. I went & rented one. Anyway, I've got a 67, had 3 on the tree, converted over to hurst floor shifter. From the back of the tunnel where the rear seat metal meets the tunnel go 56 3/4 to 59 3/4 and go from the edge of the tunnel over 2" for the width the other way. Works on my 67 with that shifter & the small boot. If I'm not making any sense on where I measured from, let me know & I'll try to explain better.
