Nice looking console clock on ebay, refurbished even! The bid's only 18.50 at the moment, what do you think it will pull?

not being expert on 67,68`s I m not sure what it means "correct for Camaros" , "fits Firebirds as well"?...but as a 'correct' Camaro part is should go for $100 plus , I think...

Jerry, I'd say it "should" be at about $150, (that would be a fair value) but it will prabably go higher than that! They have more than doubled in the last couple of years...

If I'm not mistaken, this seller has sold these clocks before, and always refers buyers to his "pal" the clock fixxer.
I always thought these clocks were originally mainly found on Pontiacs but could be ordered for other GM cars. I've got two of them on the "shelf of shame"!

Dave, Here's the one the factory put in my Bird. I have not compared every detail but it looks similar but not all there. The question is, "where is the mounting base on the EBay clock?" ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/Firebird68/Clock.jpg)

As far as I know the clocks with base formerly were mounted in Birds without console on the shifter tunnel, the ones without base have been mounted on the consoles. I have two NOS ones (one mounted) complete in original boxes, both came without the base. You get a steeper angle if it´s mounted without base: ![[Linked Image]](http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p193/TomBrandl/KopievonDSC00863.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p193/TomBrandl/KopievonDSC00862.jpg)

Intersting. My clock and console is 100% factory for sure. Those pictures at the bottom are mine from those dates.

1967 cars did not have a base....1968 cars did....Also the clock face was a different color for 1967 and 1968 just like the radios are..

Like I said, I have two (actually three with one without a body casing) that were bought from fellow FGF members here. They are probably currently worth 200 or so when spotless and working. The price will go up as the years go by of course. I had one installed in my console (I mean face-up imbedded in the console) and it looked pretty cool there by the 4-speed shifter. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.angelfire.com/on/alvey/console2004a.jpg) I'll never forget a few years ago Vikki's (Yellowbird) hubby shockingly but casually said during a visit here "Holy cow, how'd that clock get stuck in the console?!")

Yes, the 67's were black faced, no base, and a different Mounting plate under the console, the 68's had the base, and a better mounting plate under the console, with more of a graphite face.
Camaro's used the same clocks early on too.
Kind of kool looking Nash! I like it...

The factory original clock is very inaccurate. That mechanism that rewinds the spring every 30 or so seconds is about as crude as you can get compare to the technology in even the most basic time-keeping devices today.

The one on ebay appears to have a black face therefore not correct for my 68 anyhow..looks like a nice unit tho. If anyone sees one with the graphite face pop up let me know
