I've not heard anything about the Crane units yet, and nothing but good reports on the Rhoads... but that's not to say the Crane's are not a quality product?
Maybe check on PY too for a wider variety of Pontiac users who may have tried them out already?
Well, it's not huge. Around .515 w/1.65s. But it is a single pattern at 226/226@.050(more w/the 1.65s I guess). Throwing away money on something un-needed is always the goal. Vacuum is about 9-10lbs at idle. Whatcha think?
The standard lifters will be fine with that cam. I tried the Rhoads for about a month and never could stand the noise. Switched back to standards with a 230/240. Didn' t take a reading, but always had plenty of brakes. No experience with the Crane lifters.
I didn't know Crane was making those again!! I used a set of them in my Mopar 340 in the late 80's. There still in there running perfectly. (Not as much bleed down as the Rhodes, at least back then!)
