This picture is of some relatives of mine, several generations past.
The photo was taken in Ontario, Canada.

I'm curious as to the make, model and year of the car. Anyone have any idea?

34-37 Studebaker or Pierce-Arrow? Somewhere in that era, a bit before my time.

Era is correct, no Stude...P-A would have a lady with bow and arrow eblem....something else...
isnt that Clyde and Bonnies father? LOL

My guess is a 1933 Olds. I compared the hood ornament to the one found here:

'34, same hood ornament but slightly different headlights and treatment around the grill.

it looks more like the 36 6 cyl. emblem to me.

Andy, according to my book, '35 and '36 changed to multiple chrome strips on the side hood bulge. And I'm going to revise my earlier statement, I think it could be a '33, don't know where to look for differences.

That last image is a '34 ad...8 cylinder has different hood ornament, only 6 has that style. '33 had linear stacked chrome strips and three sidebars. '34 had linear stacked chrome strips and two sidebars. '35 had linear stacked chrome strips and one sidebar. '36 had pairs of vertical bars near the rear of the hood.

My grandpa, on the right. Not sure who is on the left. This photo was found after both grandparents passed away. What make/model/year? I'm guessing around a '27 Ford...

I concur - once you folks put me on to the era, and the Oldsmobile brand, I too found some pictures that suggest it's a 1934 (such as the one below, although it's in a little better condition).

Hard to say, the "Boys" are obscuring some important body lines but you might call up some pictures of '29-'30 Whippet Roadsters.

My guess would be that it's a 1930 something because of the wire wheels and the hood louver style - might not be a Whippet, could be a '30 Chrysler 66.

If it is a Whippet that would be ironic...my husband's grandfather had one too.

I'll go with Whippet, if only because in all the pics I pull up, the Whippets have those huge headlamps... the Ford's seem much smaller.

I thought a Whippet was a kind of dog???

That too...it was made by Willys-Overland in Toledo.

The roadster has a very cool, sleek design...consider it has to be a nearly 80 year old car...very classic, very clean lines.

My grandmother had a 1927 Whippet roadster that she drove across the Rockies to the West coast - apparently the first woman to do so. She was also the principal of the local county school so she wasn't timid!

But of course! She was Swedish but we forgave her!

"Pardon me sir but I have a Swedish uncle and you look a lot like him! Are you Swedish?"

"No, I'm Norwegian."

"Really? The resemblance is remarkable, are you sure you're Norwegian?"

"Ya, I'm Norwegian!"

"Okay, but you look very Swedish!"

"Oh, ya, vell, that could be, I bin sick lately."

All kidding aside, she was a very remarkable woman - and a scary grandma when she was on the warpath! All 5' 10 3/4" of her!
