I just looked up the value (supposed)in th nada book and it came up to over 13000 with my certain options. Is this true that these cars are getting to be worth that much money????
Yes indeed, I have a flawless '69 Sprint with the 4.1L OHC6 250 4BBL. Paladium Silver in color and have had several offers anywhere from 16K to 18K. Sounds tempting but I'm not ready to let it go just yet. I still have plans in beefing the ole girl up some. I'm looking at putting in a supercharger kit for it and a few other upgrades to the engine. I found a web site that a gentleman did this to his which includes pics and dyno specs. I can't think of it now, but I do have it in my paperwork at home. So, yes! these cars should bring to dollar to someone who knows the background and history of early birds.
Yes, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Good, and, Bad... good for the ones we own, bad for the ones we now cannot afford to buy! Doh! And our Convertibles are really going up in price! Better investment than the stock market, and MUCH more fun I think!
roshteaux, you may be talking about a fellow club member of mine? Brad Nysether, up here in WA. He has a Maroon, 69 Sprint 6 convertible, with a super charger on it pumping out 411 HP on the dyno at the flywheel. I have pictures if you'd like to see some (brett@cisdirect.com) Look for his car to be featured in one of the next few issues of High Performance Pontiac.
Nice guy, nice car! He's now doing a 67 Coronado Gold 400 4-speed car.
Yes, it sounds about right since I have seen the value increase about 10% every year for our First Generation Firebirds in the past several years. Hard to beleive I paid $3650 for my convertible in '86.
Yes... 411HP at the flywheel, but Brad says it looses quite a bit of that in the drive line... don't remember what the torque rating was... but still impressive! - Brett!
