Here is my solution (if anyone is interested) of mounting 3 point seatbelts, -the roller is inside of the rear armrest, and one of the two clips that held the original factory seatbelts at the headliner is now tucking the seatbelt against the rear armrest (at bottom) when not in use.
-Note that here in Denmark it's mandatory that you have a 'real' 3 point seatbelt. -plus alot more ssafer too!!
I like it Claus, and I was thinking of a similar modification, although I thought I might put the "top bolt" a little higher / closer to the window.
A couple questions for you:
- Did you put any kind of "reinforcement" in the panel behind the bolt? - I'd love to see a photo of how you mounted the assembly behind the armrest... - what car did the belt come out of? - any ideas for locating 3 point belts in the back seats? (It's a real head-scratcher for a convertible...)
-My seatbelts in the back (not in picture), is also brand new SUBARU, -they are practcally invisible, -as you have two points that you 'click' in the bottom, and the roller is mounted (roller has two 'keys') underneeth the rear spreker/window tray..-you pull down the seatbelt from upper left or right side, and click it two places..
-The front mounting point actually goes through the inner door jamb, (only a bottomhead bolt is visible (painted))
Another great FGFer has done this mod similar to yours, but he took it a step further and extended the upper roof mount point by 3-4 inches, so that the chest-belt didn't choke the average person as it crosses the chest. His mod was perfect and very professionally done.

Bjorn, your friend sent me the plans for this mod...who was it again in case my historic files are gone?

Thanks Nash - that certainly looks like a very nice install as well.
Claus' design would work a little better in my convertible though... but I'm curious as to where and what the reel hidden behind the armrest should be bolted to.
I don't know much about physics (and even less about installing seat belts safely) but I'm guessing the foot-pounds pressure on the bolts (and whatever they're fastened too) from a 200 lb person coming to a sudden stop would be incredible. Goes without saying that it would suck if they tore out in a collision.
Claus: did you just pick a spot in the sheet metal and drill a hole? Is that all there is to it?
That is what Niklas did. He welded in a hardpoint and nutplate under the rear arm-rest areas. He also re-enforced the roof hardpoints as it seemed to be the weakest link in the 3-point system. I have all the hardware and new 3-point belts and retractors, but haven't installed yet.
