hi, just wondering what the best body manual to buy for a 67bird is. i am interested in one on ebay, fisher body manual pontiac 1967, but the seller advised me it only refers to camaro and not firebird, the manual is the one with the green cover, i thought this was the one everybody used, any help appreciated. merry christmas graham
I've got the 67 Fisher body manual. I did a quick flip through and didn't see any firebird specific stuff. Section 17 "Exterior moldings" lists Chevy A,B,F,X,Z bodies but Pontiac is only A and B bodies. So at least the seller is being straight with you. But I would assume most things you need out of the fisher body manual would be the same for Camaro and Firebird anyway. I got it for convertible top info, which is pretty good. I'd recommend it.
The manual won't offer much with glass adjustment. The fgf is one of the most miserable design as far as glass adjustment goes. The second generation became a little eaiser, with the third generation being a piece of cake, professionally speaking. Never got into the 4th, but it's obvious that was/has evolved into an easier process.
It's a hit or miss game. If it's way out of whack, here's a good starting point: With all the weatherstrips in place and panels (back and front) removed, loosen the adjustments and stops. With the door closed, roll the quarter and door glass up, jockying the glasses into place. While inside of the car, tighten up all adjustments and stops. Sometimes, it will be right on the money. If not, it's darn close, and you can dink with fine tuning it.
