What would it take to convert a column shifter over to a console shifer? The car is a 67 Firebird with a TH350. don't know if it make a difference or not but it is NOT a tilt column. I like the way the factory console looks so I was going to try and find one. Any tips would be very helpful Thanks Joe

Yep...i just did it in my 68. I was going to put in a console but i couldnt find a shifter i wanted that would fit it and it was such a hassle to find a console. Its pretty straight forward...drill a hole and link up the cable. however.....i you must decide whether or not you are keeping your steering column or not because you can have quite a difficult time with neutral safty switch and the park. If you have anymore questions about it, dont hesiatate to ask...i did it just over a month ago.
For the factory look, you would need a column, console and shifter. There are a few other small parts that you will need that aren't too hard to find. We could help round up the parts for you. It would cost you around $500.
You would need to change out the column to make it look right. Wiring could stay the same. The nuetral switch would be on the shifter. You may get one with it if you bought a complete used one. Check this out:
