I purchased a set of repo door handles but did not pre fit them before the car was completely repainted and of course they do not fit in the opening. Looks like I should enlarge the hole in the doors to make them fit,and then use touchup paint to seal the exposed metal? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I had the same problem with mine. I used a dremel tool to grind a little off of the handles where they slip in the doors instead of enlarging the holes in the door skins. It worked fine and nobody would ever know without pulling the handles out of the doors.
