Im just about done tearing out all the interior in my car with only the kick panels left. I have fought these things for hours trying to get them out. Is there some kind of trick? I see that I will have to remove the emergency brake assembly and high beam switch for the driver side, but do I have to remove the heater core box to remove the passenger side kick panel? I tried the "pull out from the bottom and twist" method my chassis manual says and that didnt work unless I didnt do it right.
There is a long neck on them so you have to get them out a few inches before they are totally out of the hole. There is a rim at the end of the neck that barely fits out of the hole.
Patience and time. THe passenger side is the most difficult to remove. Use something to pry it out, but make sure it isn't sharp so it doesn't damage the kick panel. It took me a while to get it ou, but it does come out. It is easier with the Heater core box out, but not necessary.
