I have a 3/8 inch hole in my dash below the ignition switch on my 68. Is this where the button goes?

PHS documents my car w/492-Deck Lid Release Remote Control. Looks like both glove box liner (where I remember other 60's remotes were located) and mechanism are gone.

SC Chicken I'll at least try. If i'm wrong someone will let me know. Then we'll both know what it's for because I have the same thing. I believe its for your manual choke. My car once had a 6 cyl. in it. But it also had a chevy in it.Go figure.

My car is an original 400. Never had a choke. My only other guess is a toggle was added somewhere along the way?

I know someone out there has to have a remote trunk release?!!

Yes, SC, the trunk release button should be in the Glove Box. Also there was a hole there for the Glove Box Light as part of the lighting group (under hood light, trunk light, courtesy lights under dash (standard) the glove box light and in 68 the ignition light (Have never seen this one myself))

But the mechanism is relatively easy to come by if your not trying to find the correct date code etc... But the button is a little harder to find. Should be a smaller black or green button for the First gens.
