I'm looking to upgrade my wiring and I need a diagram for the pin layout for the forward lamp harness for a 68. I have the wiring diagrams and can follow most of them without a problem. However, the main power up wire for the dash is a different color than what is shown on the wiring diagrams. Thanks in advance!
That may be because the main power wire goes out to the horn relay for power.
Jim, thanks, I am aware of that but I am rewiring the harness with parts from MAD electric, ie. upgrading to 10si alternator, relays for electric fan, headlights. The MAD electric kit reroutes the wire coming out of the alternator to a new buss bar on the firewall and then one wire goes to the bulkhead connector for the main power up to the dash and one wire goes to the horn relay. The problem I have is that the wire i have in my bulkhead is not red as shown on the wiring diagrams- it's yellow. I have another yellow for the engine harness to starter.
Ok, I got it. The wire WAS at one time red but upon further inspection turns out someone painted the last 4-5 inches in yellow model paint. Don't know why that was but.... I think I have located the hi-beam/low beam wiring out of the bulkhead connector but I need confirmation. Looks like the Black with the green stripe is the high beam and the black with the tan stripe is low beam. Can someone confirm this for me?
