where are the numbers stamped on a rear end out of a 1969 firebird?
I have a couple parts cars that I picked up and want to see if they have posi rear ends before I part them out.

I thought they were on the upper hump on the drivers side but cant find them.

You can tell if the housing was originally ordered with posi by finding the two letter code near the brake clip on the left tube.

You can't tell from the code if the axle currently has a posi clutch pack in it.

All as in precisely which? I know where all the ones I know are...

Multiple VIN, axle, engine casting codes and dates, rim codes...what do you need?

found mine today. 3.08 open diff. at least its a good gear. i can get a posi for it and live by it but would have rather had the UV (3.36 posi) unit.
