Thinking that tranny's were basically the same, I bought a PG tranny out of 68 bird from one of the guys here on the board. After going through some parts catalogs, I notice that there is a differnce. The 68 using a modulator but I don't think that the 67 did. Also the 68 uses a cable and the 67 has a rod. My question is will the 68 tranny work in the 67 bird? Am I back to square one looking for a PG for a 67?
I would think you should stil be able to use the rod linkage on the 68 tranny. Simply unbolt the linkage from the 68 tranny and bolt up the rod linkage ti the shift lever. I used the original rod linkage from my 67 PG on a TH400. Only diff was gear indicators were accurate. But, trans shifted just fine.
Honest dad, that 455 on the side of the block is a serial number
