The vert is the only collector worthy car. The other two are toys. I'll venture a guess that the coupes go for around $17500 and the vert around $25. Whether they meet their reserves is another question. Been wrong before....... Here's a neat game. Which car has a 'wrong' picture? BJ is slipping! Can't even get the pictures straight.
It seems like BJ is relying on it's reputation and not the cars to bring in the money. It's nice to see 1st gen Firebirds represented but it's not that great of a representation.
Kinda like that T/A clone, why bother leaving a 350 in it. That kills it. It's not considered a Clone unless it's pretty darn close. Did they even sell a T/A with a 350 in it?

No. And you can find these caliber of cars everywhere. Why would anyone bother going to Barret Jackson and buy something that's readily available and a dime a dozen?
I had a Volvo TP21 (no 127 0f 724 made), I sold mine for $13,500....an aquaintance who bought one from my buddy , fixed his up (better paint job than mine) also, sold it on BJ for $54,000! Guess I made a boo boo by not selling it there!
I was watching the BJ on the block show last night, and the cluster f which surrounding the bidding on the GM futureliner last year. Basically, BJ screwed up the auction of that car and sold it to the wrong guy, and we can see the real personality of Craig Jackson, when he was challenging the supposed buyer. Who does this guy think he is?
I met a guy last year who sold 2 corvette's thru BJ. Both car's fetched over $100K each. The guy who sold them was just a peon in the grand scheme of things. Many buyers are flying in on their Lear Jets, and he was saying you really need to be in the inner circle to get a Saturday afternoon spot for your car...held for the special customers.
The fee's are rediculous. Around $300 to get into the show with the right to bid on cars, and the buyer and seller both pay 8% fee for the sale. What a rip off!
\ And if you see the yellow one that Volvo fixed up to be at the launch of the XC90, I helped them find it...corresponded quite a bit with the guys at Volvo on that one... on the "Sugga" site , somewhere there is mine too...also I have a big atricle written up about mine by a Danish Volvo club magazine
The real deals are in the side tents that never get camera time. I like to watch BJ just to see what money will buy. Some 'bargains' do roll across the block. Take the sale of the Banshee last year.

"some " parts are...I for instance bought the last 7 new old stock wheel cylinders in Sweden...I needed 8, 2 per wheel...lots of parts available ,but not all of them ...crash parts are VERY rare, many crashes with those!
Ok, I taped two days worth of BJ, the first ended around lot 200 something, the next started around lot 400. Of course the Firebird I was interested in, lot 349, fell in between, plus they don't have the results posted yet. ARRGH!
I emailed Speed and asked them to run all the days sellers on the bar underneath, the top 10 means little. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to know what certain cars did that were not shown. Maybe if a few others did the same they might listen.

I think this just might explain a lot of our misconceptions about BJ. They show you what they want you to see.

This year I have been recording BJ overnight on my DVR then watching it the next day, allowing me to FF thru the stuff I am not interested in. I am amazed at the sheer number of Vettes and Camaros compared to good Pontiac stuff. I thought the all original 64 GTO was a great price, and am surprised the 66' GTO convertible brought similiar money to the 70' Judge. Also in keeping with FGF good to see that 69' bird do well. I wonder if maybe the "BJ Hype" is starting to catch up with them? Lots of other good choices in auto auctions around the country year round to go buy at and get better bang for the buck.
i still think that they are trying to make the pontiacs disappear.they always go to a commercial when a pontiac goes on the auction block.i was on the phone with my buddy when a 69 ta vert was next in line.i made him a bet they would go to a commercial when the 69 fb was auctioned off and shur enough;i won the bet.piss on barret jackson.they dont have no idea what a poncho is worth and all those people with all that money dont know their arse from a hole in the ground.those camaros are not worth anywhere near what the firebirds are worth.and that is a fact
They somewhat apologized to Pontiac fans last night and acknowledged going to commercial when Pontiacs came up. They made out like it was coincedence but I've watched BJ for years, it's always done that and with so few Pontiacs there, the odds of hitting them for a commercial break every time are slim.
I usually print the car list off the web site so I know what's coming when, sure enough I picked three commercial breaks in advance.
It's a conspiracy

The clone T/A convertible was rolled up on the block and ... segue to commercial break. They didn't even bother with a recap of the sale. BJ is getting to big to care what's broadcast. 'BJ' use to mean something entirely different, if ya know what I mean.

These Pontiacs are still a well kept secret. The prices are already spinning out of control, but it's early yet. In a year or two, buyit-jackson will be paying close attention. First the real collecteurs will buy them up. Then the Jackson prices will ramp way up.
yepper, we got some Tony Stewart recap last night when that 69 TA rolled onto the block, then went to commercial, and thats after 20min of showing the TA lined up?
frankly, I would not be happy with a $25-40k price. I think 69firebird man called it.. these birds are more rare than the Camaros.. and it's silly these Camaros are off the charts..
I say power in numbers.. we need to do a little social engineering.. start coping the attitude with everyone that we are the "bar".. camaros, mustangs, hah... they are a dime a dozen.. who cares about those?
If we stick together and tell the same story, we can make it happen. Mini-Pearl was the first to wear a price-tag on her hat, and 10 years later it was all the rage!
