The front windshield glass on my convertible is horrible, tons of scratches, etc. Can glass have scratches buffed out? I'll replace the glass if I have to, but I'd rather see if I can save it. Any recs on products to do the job?
Any glass company can buff it for you, If the scratches are too deep, they will not come out....I have had success with a peice of silk and toothpaste...YES it did work on minor scratches.
Eastwood makes 2 glass polishing kits that work well. The light one will take off wiper haze and fine scratches. If you can catch a nail on a scratch, that one won't take it out.
The HD kit might, but you have to be VERY careful about overheating the glass and putting distortions in it.

If, you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, they won't be eliminated, but they may be able to be reduced slightly. Over all it should do well at improving your over all visibility.
Also check around with most automotive glass shops (more than just the quick fix chip repair places) as most will be able to get you a new windshield for a pretty good price. Usually under $200-$250 installed and if they are a good shop, many will have at least one tech that has done older cars. You want to have them take extra care with your trim!
