I sold my 68 in 1977 to buy a 67 3/4 ton truck w/a 327 for work kicked myself (hard) if you don't beleive me ask the war dept. lol finally bought a 68 in AZ had it shipped to WI.( early 05 )Glad I can kind of afford the money pit I really enjoy. Rick
Oh Gary... I'm sorry to hear that... but glad to hear your doing what "you" really want, and chasing the dream...
We all have different dreams... some of us just "try" to put all the dreams we can in the same Garage... But then either the Garage is too small or the dreams are too big... not sure which?
(I've started working on a 69 GTO... all I have is a motor for it so far... but piece by piece, and next thing you know I'll have a GTO sitting there!
I hope you'll still hang around with us... after doing up the 67, you have a lot still to share. And we all would like to keep tabs on your new project when that comes into the picture...
We all have had some memorable cars, but our first is the one that is cherished. I cut my teeth on Chevys, my first being a '65 Impala SS. But once my friend Pat let me drive his '67 bird the majority of cars I've owned have been Pontiacs. If given a chance, time and money I'd love to have another '65.
Sorry, sold my 68 Firebird in 77. Replaced w/ 797 in car show. I also had a 65 Impala SS 396 4- speed before my bird like the one posted above, no vinyl top. Rick
Gary, Sorry to see your Bird leave but glad you will be able to get the Chevelle you have wanted. Hope it goes well for you. I know that Firebird is a beautiful car.
I had my suspicions it was you Liam.I guess i just may see it around after all! I know of quite a few FGF's in the southern Ontario area.Gotta be at least 40-50 cars.

Doug, he's already got three visit dates marked on his calendar this summer to come visit you and his ex! I hear it takes several years for guys to truly "let go".
It'd be cool if Gary paid you a visit in the Chevelle though. Now that'd be a photo op we'd all look forward to seeing.
'68 428 HO M3 Monster, 4-on-the-floor! Need I say more?
I can not believe what they want for these things. It doesn't look like it is easy to back up the claim on one of these without a protecto plate or build sheet. These broards are expensive and little or no guarantee they are what they say they are.

you didnt check that out before you sold your bird???
69 are the ones I'm talking about 68 are better ID
68 is darn close in styling to a 9. Easier to document therefore a better investment. Out of curiosity, what do you like about the 9's that is different from the 8's?
Yes, to some degree but the perplexity of getting one checked out to be what they say it is and spend a bunch of money and it isn't what they say it is. I called a dealer on one that had one that I liked and ask, him how did he know it was a True SS answer because the original ower said it was. I said, you will have to show me proof he said, he couldn't. On a 69 I would need a build sheet or protecto plate and compare them with the car. I hear they are forging build sheets and restamping blocks and passing them off. Very leary of buying something forged for this kind of money
