I'm currently stripping my '67,(just recently got it) and noticed that the valve covers that I thought were typical M/T with fins actualy have a Pontiac logo where the oil cap knock-out is. What's up with this ? Are they a hot item ? Anybody interested in them ?
They could be from any number of manufacturers. Do they say who made them? MT for sure? I know Cal Custom will have a part # and info on the inside of the cover etc...
Many manufacturers did this for specific markets. Chevy or F... f... (I can't say it) being among the most common.
I bet they would be worth something to the right person. I'd be interested, but then would have to build another motor around them... and then a car around that... so you see my problem (or sickness)

I think that they are just regular M/T valve covers.I have a set on my 350 Chev that are marked "Chevrolet" in the oil cap knock-out.In the 70s and 80s when Mickey Thompson was "HIP" these valve covers were as popular as what Edelbrock is now!
IMO,unless you`re going to buy original GM chrome pans you might as well leave the M/T pans on.The chrome on the cheap pans turn colour, after awhile they begin to flake, and leak like a basket. And the M/T covers look a million times better than CHROME!
if you also want a little different look ....try sandblasting them (gives it a simi cast alum. look) and then paint (engine color) either the two side and leave the fins the plain ...or vise versa. just spray any unpainted areas with a clear to keep the look and oil and dirt out of the raw blasted area.
now don't EVERYONE do it or i will have to change mine
