I'm rebuilding a 69 convertible and converting it to a Muncie 4 speed... Does a standard camaro z bar setup work? I think that the part that goes on the engine block is different for pontiacs. Can someone tell me if that part is available? I've got a 350 rebuilt and ready to put in once I solve my z bar problem...

The Z bar from a Camaro is different.

classic industries sells a complete z-bar kit with all correct push rods and springs and frame bracket ect for firebirds. I can't recall price off hand but belive it was around $100. May be the best way to go as all parts will be new. they also sell just the z-bar for around $40 or so.

When I did mine last year I found everything @ www.mattsclassicbowties.com or 925-676-7172 I dealt with Matt personally and he told me he could get anything I wanted for any musclecar if available. I also bought PUI seat covers and I bought new foam and almost forgot I also got the pedals from Matt, Much cheaper prices Give Him a try. Keep us informed.

not a hard install but dont forget the 350 and 4 spd crossmembers are different as well. 350/3spd and 400/spd are the same.

Rick, is your 350 an arrowhead (Pontiac) or a bow tie (Chevy)?
So many of the 'birds now sport a Chevy drive train.
