I have heard, on here I think, that the repro-scoops do not fit very well. There are some open RA style on ebay but I can't get the seller to answer me when I ask him how well they fit. Does anyone have a clue (does anyone on here sell the open repro's)?

i bought the open reproduction scoops for my 400 repro hood fit great no problems with the hood or scoops.i was very happy.

I also bought the repros. They needed very little to fit properly. I cut the centers out and made them open scoops

I am not up on who makes what anymore...But I suggest buying original inserts if you have an original hood.

If you do not have an original hood, shop around for ones that fit properly. Nothing looks nastier or "bad" than the focal point of your car (dual scooped hood) and having inserts that have bad gaps or stick up and not flush with the hood.

IMO...these parts are very important.

Nash/John said that the 400 inserts he bought from Tamraz fit good.

Were the GM open scoops metal or plastic?
My 67 is not a ra, but has plastic open ones with GM looking part #'s.
The owner(2nd) before me said they where on it when he bought it in 71.

I have a set of open scoops and 4 sets of closed. The open ones weigh more than the closed.

They are all metal too...kinda weird eh?
