Just a quick thank you. There is no doubt in my mind that it is the heater core. Taking steps to have this fixed.

I appreciate everyone's help in narrowing this down for me.

Barry, all the guy's here are great at helping out, or trouble shooting! It's great to know you have back up!

If it is the heater core (sounds like it) it will have a slight sweet smell to it, and feel slippery like oil.

There is quite a bit of information in the FAQ section on how to change the heater core. Also, just for reference, you might want to check Steve's site out: http://1968firebird.org/ he has much of the service manuals scanned and on line! Illustrations, Part #'s, etc... great resource!

Heater Core was the problem and it is now replaced.

Running like new and I am one happy guy!
