I am prepping my 67 for paint. How do you remove the side gills in the rear quarter pannel. Also, are they chrome or stainless? If chrome, how much to replate? Mine are looking worn.

They're chrome plated potmetal. Replace them with repros if they don't polish up nice enough.

Remove by removing the rear seat and the side panel and armrest. Remove the speed nuts.

They are held on with speed nuts accessed from the window hardware access hole on the inside. Some of them are fun to get to but they all can be reached.

I'm still nursing scrapes from doing mine! But Jims right and there are a few that will have you cussing! Found the best thing was one of those little speed ratchet wrenches.

IF you are going to buy repros buy them from Ames. The ones from Classic Industries are junk.

Just make sure they are made by Trim Parts.
