hey 32teeth, sweet install on the gauges in the dash. Are they electrical or mechanical? I have just gotten to a point on my 68 vert when I was installing gauges for battery, oil and water. I wanted to do something unique and i think what you did is awesome. Can you share any tricks? I am guesing the right size hole saw and some patience.

@joe_spy
thanks for the compliment
the guages are electrical
you can see where the temp sender is cut into the rad hose
the oil one is on a brass t where the old oil switch was (i wanted to keep the idiot light as well)
the battery one is hooked onto the ignition wire (not sure if thats the best)

tricks? hmm, definately patience. what i ended up doing for all the wiring was get one of those harmonica type connectors that you end up chaining the circuit through

i had 2 faceplates messed around with one just for placement and when ready i actually used an old math compass to cut the holes perfect. the compass has the option for placing different needles and i had a cutter typ one

@if6were9
the original color code was L (turquoise)

From the tallies on your site it looks like the factory color is winning. That was my choice. I'm kind of bias since my convertible's factory color is #55 Crystal Turquoise.

Would you care to contribute to helping me with my two 'birds? It will cost ya double. smile Have fun and keep'em flyin'.

Looking good, Eugene, but you might want to also add a different shade of turquoise to your list...Meridian Turquoise (K).

you cut the dash with a compass? Did you use a hole saw or fosner bit? The steel has to be at least 1/16th" thick
