What is the difference between the standard and deluxe interiors?

I'm thinking that my car has a standard interior because none of my options on the order sheet say anything about "deluxe interior". I do have things like BELTS_DELUXE, STRG WHL_DLX, CLOCK_ELEC but that's about it for the interior.

And on another note...the AC was pretty **** expensive. The total car was $2906.52 (before shipping) and the AC alone was $271.32. That's almost 10% of the ENTIRE car extra for AC. Yikes, no wonder too many people didn't get it.

Dan, the Deluxe seats have a grained vinyl outer section with a "Comfort Weave" insert for the centers of the seats. (Kind of looks like a cloth insert from a distance, but is woven vinyl)
And the center section is in a specific patern.
Standard is all vinyl with a heat seamed patern in the center section.

Then the door panles (at least for 67/68) are also quite different with molded arm rests instead of mounted arm rests, again patern and all is different.

Many times they list it on the build sheet as Custom interior. But there is no real reason you couldn't put the deluxe in even if it wasn't ordered that way. 99% of the people wouldn't pick up on thet even with the build sheet displayed with the car!

My 69 car did not come with deluxe interior , but when I bought it it did have it...someone 'restored' it 10 years ago...lol
Silly me , I thought I had standard interior...but later learned the difference...lol
the std has armrests that are 'attached' to the door panel, the deluxe are molded in...like Brett said for 67-68 , 69 is the same....the seat belts are black plastic std ( mine has those ...) but the deluxe are steel buckles...

The black plastic seat belts were also available in the deluxe interior the metal deluxe seatbelts was an option, I lost my rear ones during restoration and am having a hard time replacing, deluxe interior also included chrome trim around the windows in 69, worst part is that door panels are very expensive to replace in deluxe.

dan your tag on the firewall will tell you if it came with deluxe interior , go to the place on here that decodes your body tag it will tell you when , where it was made, the color of paint and color of interior, if you have std. and want to change to deluxe there are a few things you need to change( door handles and rods ) and also no one makes the watershields for the deluxe interior as that is different also. i have only seen 2 other 69's in my area with deluxe interior, not sure how rare it is

Something else to remember if you decide to change over to deluxe is 68 is not interchangeable with 69. Door lock pulls are in different locations.

Also, the window regulators need to be changed, or at least the shaft that the crank turns. It's longer for the custom interior.
