I need to take the header bow off my car to get it rechromed. Is this a very difficult task? Does the windshield need to be taken out? Any advice from someone who has done this is greatly appreciated.
w/s does not need to come out....you take the screws out, heat it, maybe with a hair dryer to loosen the gooo that holds it , then slowly ,carefully pry them off, keep heating...thats old sticky stuff , holds them pretty good...
I used the black guyey stuff mechanics use...like black window caulking, comes in strips in a flat package...its pre cut, but still together...got to cool it , put in frezzer for a few minutes ,then you can cut it apart, then install, it gets gyuey as it warms up...maybe someone else has another idea, but thats what I used
